When you join the organized sector for the first time, your employer will start deducting Provident Fund from your Salary and Human Resources department will provide your UAN to you personally or it will be mentioned in your payslip. Your HR will ask you to activate online and add KYC details online.
Here we help you how to do it
Step 1:- Visit the EPFO website https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/
Step 2:- Now you are able to see the important links column and Activate UAN link in the right side of the website, just below the login credentials
Step 3:- Click Activate UAN link, It will take you to the activation page
Step 4:- In the Activation page, there are details to be filled in by you to activate your UAN such as UAN, Member ID, Aadhaar, Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number and Capcha.
Step 5:- The following details filled by you are
You need to enter either UAN or Member ID
Asterisk (*) details are mandatory i.e Aadhaar Number, Name (as per Aadhaar), Date of Birth (as per Aadhaar) and Mobile Number and Capcha.
Step 6:- After filling the aforementioned details and clicking the Terms and Conditions check box, kindly click Get Authorization Pin
Step 7:- Once clicked, you will receive a pin on your mobile number in a few minutes.
Step 8:- Now, your job is to enter the pin on the box and click OK
Step 9:- Finally, Your UAN is activated and you will receive your password in your registered mobile number.
Step 10:- Good job. You can now visit the EPFO website and login using your UAN and password.
Note*:- The important point to note is that you are not able to see your EPF passbook right after your UAN activation. When can you check your EPF passbook?
Cool, don’t be upset, just wait for 6 hours. It takes 6 hours for the EPF website to show your passbook online whenever you activate UAN for the first time and change your password online.
